In 2020, we achieved a major landmark as the Group achieved capital self-sufficiency by being capital generative on an underlying basis (without management actions), and in 2021, almost trebled this level of underlying organic capital generation to £51m. We have improved our overall capital strength, increased the resilience and reduced the sensitivity of our solvency balance sheet through a number of asset portfolio sales, and re-commenced a shareholder dividend, which is expected to grow over time. Our focus is to fulfil our growth ambitions by using the increasing levels of capital generation to take advantage of our market positioning and new business opportunities to deliver value for shareholders.
