Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ Autumn Budget will raise taxes by £26bn in 2029-30. Her measures, which were posted prematurely by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), include: • Freezing tax thresholds on personal tax and employer National Insurance contributions thresholds for three years from 2028-2029 • Capping the National Insurance exemption at £2,000 a year for employee pension contributions made via salary sacrifice from April 2029 • Hiking tax rates on dividends, property and savings income • Changes to corporation tax, capital gains tax relief and the cash ISA system ...
