The new amendments propelling pension reforms

Last month, the government tabled over 260 amendments and new clauses for the current Pension Schemes Bill, ahead of the first Public Bill Committee sittings. Almost all proposed changes were included in the Bill, but those put forward by other parties were excluded; the Pensions Minister did not rule out similar measures in the future. Some of the new clauses sought to address issues raised from the Virgin Media ruling, as well as rules regarding Local Government Scheme asset pools.
