Understanding the impact of 'pot for life' proposals

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) commissioned WPI Economics to poll employers on how they would respond to the government proposals to introduce lifetime provider models and examine the impact of the proposals on different groups of savers. It found, while the proposals may help to tackle the growing number of small pension pots, they risk undermining the success of auto-enrolment (AE) and could “fundamentally change” the role of the employer as well as having a negative impact on outcomes for savers.
