Active ETFs enter new phase as assets triple in Europe

The European active ETF market reached €78.4bn in assets at the end of last year, up from €52.5bn 12 months earlier. The market segment has tripled in size over the past couple of years yet represents only 2.9% of the region’s total ETF assets, remaining modest compared to the 11% figure in the US. Equity strategies accounted for over 70% of all active ETFs, with active bond ETFs making up 22% of the segment.
